my story
California born; Carolina raised. I moved from California when I was 10. Designing and creating have always been a strong passion of mine. It all began after being completely paralyzed at age 4 in a wheelchair. I had Guillain-Barre Syndrome; a rare auto-immune disease similar to MS. Throughout high school I was in AP Art and Advanced Fashion Design. I later went to ECU and received a degree in Health Management with a minor in Pre-Med studies. The original plan was to go to physical therapy school. God had a different plan for me as I began my real estate career right after graduating from college. My husband was a professional baseball player and he did real estate in the off season. That is when all things interior design became another hobby of mine. We were struggling and I needed some extra money so I began making and selling crafts to a local boutique with my BFF, Jo. I then began making jewelry around 2007. I have an amazing husband and two wonderful daughters, Mary Kate & Caroline Finley. That is where the name Finley Kate comes from. Below is a link to a blog I share in hopes that it can help someone dealing with chronic pain. Since 2008 I have suffered tremendously, but I finally have some answers and can start a new path to healthy. Thank you to all my friends, family and customers for your support through the years! It means so much!
